As a leading UK general insurer, our reputation and award-winning product portfolio means we want to allow our clients to organise their insurance needs with us in the way that is best for them.
NFU Mutual Direct was set up in 1996 to allow people who prefer to organise with their insurance company by telephone, and increasingly via the internet, access to NFU Mutual. We provide our policyholders with a readily accessible, extra channel of advice and support, and undertake all elements of the insurance lifecycle from prospecting to renewals and mid-term adjustments, with the exception of claims which is handled by other parts of the business.
Essentially a call centre in nature, we like to think it’s a bit different in lots of ways. There’s essentially no cold calling and we’re not stuck on a business park in the middle of nowhere. We’re right in the heart of Glasgow city centre and we’re proud of an environment that’s as friendly as it is professional. Our award-winning offices are on Queen Street, so easy to get to by public transport and great for popping out to the shops at lunchtime. Our current headcount is around 130, but there's still very much a close-knit feel and a sense of belonging to a team. We like to reward everyone when we've been successful, in addition to individual incentives, and as an office we've enjoyed days out paintballing, deep sea fishing as well as spa sessions.
